cmfn-agm2-sept2015Following the AGM, the network invited members to join in with the guests from Uniting Church to watch a movie "Mary meets Muhammad", a documentary feature film showing the arrival of Tasmania’s first detention centre through the eyes of local Christian woman and knitting club member Mary and Muslim Afghan Hazara asylum seeker Mohammad, who is detained inside the centre – as they connect through the gift of a knitted beanie.

The movie became a launch-pad to discuss the current Syrian refugee crisis and gave way to an emotional and passionate conversation. Members of the Uniting Church had prepared questions that prompted a meaningful discussion. Special Guest Chip Henriss interviewed several members and guests and captured their feelings and response to the movie on camera.

The meeting between the regular attendees of the Mutli-Faith network with guests from Uniting Curch was a great way to participate in this very special outreach program organised by the Uniting Church. It was the perfect get-together for the annual general meeting.
