The Casey Multi-Faith Network welcomes new members and presents an opportunity to share, learn and develop new friendships. We hold monthly meetings at the City of Casey council office and invite prominent speakers to discuss current topics of faith.

The meetings begin by welcoming guests and members, and acknowledging the traditional owners of the land: the Bunurong and the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation.

Spiritual Thought: At each meeting we have a volunteer who shares a spiritual thought which can be a text from a sacred Scripture, a poem or quotes from religious leaders or saintly figures, or food for thought. It is followed by a moment of silence and reflection.

Guest Speaker: The  meeting is based mainly on a guest speaker who presents a topic that is related to a faith, relevant in the Multi-Faith context, or a contemporary and interesting topic. The presentation normally goes on for approximately 40 minutes, with an opportunity to ask questions or comment for another 20 minutes.  The presentation may or may not be accompanied by audio and visual components.

Events: The Network is involved in organizing many events throughout the course of the year, such as tours to places of worship, arts exhibitions, get-togethers, forums, etc. The Network is also invited to many community and local events. During the meetings, news about these events is shared, flyers are distributed, photos of tours past are shared, and any other relevant information is disseminated.

Local Issues: Each guest and member present at the monthly meetings has the opportunity to introduce themselves and talk about their faith events. This is an excellent forum to share the events that may be happening in local faith and cultural communities. This session gives a chance to everyone to participate and share about the involvement within their communities, to present the good works being done by their communities, to ask questions or to comment about current affairs happening around the world.

Each meeting lasts approximately 2 hours. Apart from sharing of knowledge, the objective is to develop friendships with people of other faith, break down barriers and misconceptions, and participate in a cross-cultural experience.
